Downtown Mantua Revitalization Corporation
Downtown Mantua Revitalization, DMRC, a non-profit 501c3 corporation, has been supporting Mantua since 2007. We operate with one major function—to promote and revitalize the Village of Mantua to become a village where people want to live and visit. Through our support, the Village of Mantua has been awarded numerous grants to renovate and upgrade Buchert Park, Renovate the historic downtown Mantua buildings, brighten the environment through financing murals and contributing to the flowers throughout the village.

Named the “2014 Best Arts and Cultural Event in Portage County,” this street festival boasts over 80 artisans selling and displaying their handmade works of art and crafts, as well as a “Merchant Circle," great food, an Arts & Crafts auction of art, plus a popular photo contest. Browse the festival and take the time to taste wine from four local wineries. Children can enjoy our very popular Kids’ Booth.

2025 ART ON THE HILL & WINE TASTING
PHOTO CONTEST
All ages of photographers may enter our 2025 Art on the Hill & Wine Tasting Too Photo Contest. We are looking for students (Pre-K through High School), Amateur Adults, and Professional adults to enter photos under categories of People/Portraits, Landscapes/Scenery , Nature (flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, bees etc), Places/Events , Animals/ Pets or Other (Art photos, photo journalism, etc.) Photos also accepted for the 2026 DMRC Calendar. The theme for the year is NATURALLY, MANTUA!!!! Think nature or hey—that’s Mantua. Eligible photos for the calendar must be of the Mantua area—Village, Shalersville, Township or Hiram.
Calendar photos will be judged along with all the photo categories for the Photo Contest awards but 13 will be selected for the calendar.
Awards will be made for Best in Category for each Division of photographers, Best OVerall in Category, and recognition for stand out photography. An award will be made to the Calendar Photo best reflecting the theme. We also have the public vote for their favorite photo for PEOPLE”S CHOICE.$5.00 per photo to enter.
Photos, color or black & white, must be 8x 10 inch and matted in a single matte. $5.00 per photo to enter. Photos may be dropped off beginning July 1 at either Jake’s Eats or Jake’s Market or Crooked River Flowers, Gifts & More. OR bring them to the festival on July 12 at the Granary from 8:30 to 11:00.

2025 MANTUA SMALL BUSINESS GRANT
Have a great new idea for your business’s physical or marketing presence and would like some assistance in making that happen? Consider the Mantua Small Business Grant program. Whether it’s a new sign or a new website, we’d like to help with a $400 grant. In a few words let us know how you would use your award to enhance your visibility to your customers. Should you win a grant DMRC will give you a placard for display and arrange for an announcement with photo in a local newspaper.
Eligible project must be designed to enhance your presence in the community via
1. signage, 2. new or updated website, 3. media advertising purchase or 4. other new relevant projects
Eligible businesses must have a physical address and conduct business within Mantua Village and have less than $1 million in annual gross receipts.
All projects must be historically appropriate and compliant with village ordinances where required.
Should you win a grant DMRC will give you a placard for display and arrange for an announcement with photo in a local newspaper. We ask that grant funds be used for the project which is described in your application – please don’t use them for alternate projects without approval from the DMRC Mantua Small Business Grant committee.
If awarded, grant eligibility returns after twenty-four months.
